I have owned this domain, wholenewworld.com, for more than 20 years. I figured something would happen at some point that would justify using the name.
What we have been witnessing since the day Joe Biden stepped down and Kamala Harris stepped into the spotlight – just six days ago! – is, I firmly believe, the beginning of…
…a whole new world in American politics.
Before that day was over, I already found myself believing that support for Harris would rapidly grow and carry her to all the way to the White House.
Here I will chronicle my view of how this unfolds between now and November 5. If it turns out I’m wrong and this rapidly expanding sense of new hope bursts, I’ll report and comment on that.
But I’ll stick my neck out now and predict, nope, that’s not going to happen.
Sure, there will be setbacks and plenty of pushback by the Trump forces. But it’s not going to work. Donald Trump will get the votes he already has but no more, as very few voters will either abandon or join the ranks.
But Kamala Harris will gain supporters by the droves, from disaffected Democrats, disillusioned non-voters, remaining fence-sitters, and perhaps even a handful of Trump converts who see the light.
Because this light is bright. It’s the beacon of the long-suppressed hopes and dreams of most Americans. We yearn for a turn away from appealing to our weaker, lesser, darker selves, and turning toward a renewed commitment to honesty, respect, and compassion in American political and civic life.
So that’s what I’m feeling and seeing all around me, and what inspires me at long last to use this domain name.
Let’s roll…

Wonderful opening statement, Ron. This really does feel like a battle between good and evil, wherein the supporters of the evil have been brainwashed into believing their guy will save the world, when in fact it is just the opposite. I find it hard to believe that so many intelligent, educated people are drinking the MAGA kool-aid.
GO Kamala!!

Thank you, Karen. Yes, the ever-perplexing question. Why do so many people support, let alone seem to adore, such a badly damaged human being. Be one thing if he was just the proverbial grouchy uncle. But as president? Psychologists and sociologists will be studying this phenomenon for decades.
