…and McKay Coppins has the goods to prove it.
This Atlantic article from February of this year by the esteemed McKay Coppins is fascinating, both in what it reveals about Trump’s rambling incoherence and the fortuitous way Coppins got his story ten years ago. Coppin’s main insight here is that Trump’s rambling statements don’t shock us because we have become accustomed to them.
That said, the media and engaged public do seem more focused on and aware of Trump’s incoherence of late. I believe this is because a) he is, in fact, getting more unhinged, I presume from both aging and his growing trepidation; and b) the election is drawing closer and closer, and the consequences of a Trump presidency loom larger as they approach. A distant tornado commands a whole different level of attention than one just a mile away.
