The closer we get to November 5 the more alarmingly manifest our extreme polarization becomes. When this election is over, our top priority will be taking up the hard work of bridging our divides and healing the body politic.
And only one candidate can lead that effort, for the simple reason that only one candidate wants to lead that effort. Divisiveness is Donald Trump’s calling card, sowing hatred and fear his MO.
Electing Kamala Harris won’t automatically heal our nation, obviously. But it is the necessary precondition to engaging that enormous challenge.
